This ensemble has been established as an arts institute of the highest artistic quality and of regional and national significance by the National Endowment for the Arts.  The company was recognized as a performing arts group of  international merit and functioned as cultural ambassadors in its international touring through contact with the American State Department and the White House’s Office of Special Presidential Messages.

Mr. Throne has created over 50 works in the past 14 years; 10 have been made possible in part by funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, and 14 were created for choreographic awards or commissions.  The company has received worldwide critical acclaim, respect from the dance community, enthusiastic audience response and funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, the Cultural Services of Foreign Governments, corporate, public and private sponsors.

Performance highlights: 10 New York City Seasons; over 400 performances in the U.S.; represented American modern dance at Star Island’s Conference on the Arts, UNICEF’s International Festival at Wolftrap, the Dance Festival of Korea, the InterArts Festival of New York, and the Cooper Square Festival at La Mama; toured in Asia to Korea, Japan and Hong Kong; and been the subject of three T.V. specials.
